A joint venture of Boeing and Lockheed, the United Launch Alliance sent its Atlas V rocket to orbit, carrying a GPS satellite last week.
The launch took place at Cape Canaveral, Florida, as part of the Air Force’s initiative to help sustain and upgrade the military’s current constellation in space through GPS satellites.
This latest launch represents the 10th installment of 12 for the GPS IIF satellite series, and the takeoff can be seen here, on ULA’s website.
Below is footage of the satellite getting mounted onto the Atlas V.
