Robots improve our quality of life by building a remarkable amount of stuff that we use. They do the dangerous tasks like exploring the depths of oceans or space for us. Robots do jobs that are difficult, dangerous or dull for human beings.
The Korean government has set a goal that 100% of households should have domestic robots by 2020. Obviously, robots are a huge deal for South Korea since they are crucial to that country’s industries like flat panel displays, cars, semiconductors and shipbuilding.
Now to stimulate interest in robotics and fuel the robotic industry, the South Korean government is building a Robot Land. Robot Land will be located in the city of Incheon in northwestern South Korea.
Robot Land will include a robotics research park dedicated to education and innovation, a robot theme park complete with a massive robot statue, a robot exhibition hall, shopping mall with robotic cashiers and even hotels … promising complete fun and fantasy with robots.
Early concept images seem to show a monorail, a Ferris wheel, the robot statue, a roller coaster and things like glass pyramids that shoot lasers. The final phase of construction of incredible Robot Land is planned to be completed by 2018.
