Reality seems to be getting closer and closer to coinciding with science fiction films.
Robots, drones, and now jetpacks…
This past Saturday, many Chinese observers in Beijing got to witness daredevil Nick Macomber take to the skies with a GoFast jetpack, marking the first ever successful jetpack flight in China.
While the entire flight was only about 27 seconds long and Macomber only went up to 10 stories high, the feat itself is incredible.
“It feels like you’re riding a bicycle into the sky,” Macomber said. “It becomes a part of me. It’s like walking, you don’t think about walking anymore, you just walk. You go where you want to go. That’s how it is for me to fly.”
“I’m like a bird, I just see where I want to go and I go,” Macomber added.
Until jetpack technology can figure out how to use a whole lot less fuel per flight, don’t expect to see anything revolutionary or commercial anytime soon.
Now it’s a waiting game…
