Walmart may soon be replacing its gigantic fleet of 6,500 supply trucks with a more futuristic vehicle called the Walmart Advanced Vehicle Experience (WAVE).
The WAVE concept truck has a “micro-turbine hybrid powertrain that can run on diesel, natural gas, biodiesel and probably other fuels still to be developed”, according to Walmart CEO Doug McMillion.
Why the WAVE is strictly an idea at the moment, it is supposed to be 20% more aerodynamic than Walmart’s fleet of trucks at present.
