Volvo, Grey London, and Albedo100 teamed up in order to develop a reflective spray paint called LifePaint, only visible at night.

Interestingly enough, LifePaint is actually less like a paint and more like a washable material which lasts approximately ten days before needing to be reapplied.

The best part is it only glows when in the presence of glowing headlights, but other than that remains invisible to the naked eye.

“Every year more than 19,000 cyclists are injured on the UK’s roads,” Nick Connor, managing director at Volvo Car UK said in a statement. “At Volvo, we believe that the best way to survive a crash is not to crash, and are committed to making the roads a safer place by reducing the number of accidents.”

Volvo’s new water-based product has applications beyond simply cycling, as the company says its can easily be applied to helmets, shoes, backpacks, leashes, and clothes, among other things.
