Volkswagen is still reeling from their dieselgate scandal, but the company is taking steps to at least try and put it behind them and move forward.
Their latest step is reaching an agreement to resolve litigation with its United States dealers, which encompasses the TDI vehicles as well as the value of Volkswagen franchises.
Dealers will also receive cash payments and “additional benefits” from Volkswagen.
CEO of Volkswagen’s North American division, Heinrich J. Woebcken, said in a statement, “Our dealers are our partners and we value their ongoing loyalty and passion for the Volkswagen brand. This agreement, when finalized, will strengthen the foundation for our future together and further emphasize our commitment both to our partners and the U.S. market.”
For Volkswagen, this is just the latest step the company has to take in an attempt to settle a whole slew of cases worth tens of billion dollars involving business partners and government regulators.
