Elon Musk and Tesla have officially unveiled the highly-anticipated Model X, but one feature seemed to catch everyone’s eye.
The Model X comes equipped with a “bioweapon defense mode” button that will aid in helping you survive a biological attack.
What would appear to be a promotional feature is anything but according to Musk, who is completely behind the button and serious about its potential.
“This is a real button,” said Musk, who added it will come in handy “if there’s ever an apocalyptic scenario of some kind.”
During a biological attack, pressing the bioweapon defense mode button will result in the Model X’s air filter coming to your rescue, which is reportedly 10 times larger than a normal car’s air filter.
Not to mention, the air filter is 300 times better at filtering bacteria, 500 times better at filtering allergens, 700 times better at filtering smog, and 800 times better at filtering viruses.
Those are some significant numbers…
I, for one, am not surprised that the Model X seems like a car built for a superhero because after all, Musk said Tesla is “trying to be a leader in apocalyptic defense scenarios.”
