Using unconventional marketing tactic, Xiaomi, a Chinese electronics company sent its midrange smartphone Redmi Note 7 to space.
Xiaomi is gearing up to launch its latest device and in order to demonstrate the durability of the phone; Xiami’s UK division – Redmi UK sent a number of smartphones to the space using a weather balloon. It went to a height of above 21 miles above the Earth where the temperature was a -76 degrees Fahrenheit.
During its space voyage, the smartphones took some stunning pictures and videos from the edge of the space. The phones parachuted their way back to the surface of Earth once they were done with the photography.
Earlier, when Xiomi introduced the budget-level android smartphone, it posted videos showing people stomping on the phone, throwing it down the staircase and even chopping vegetables on the smartphone just to show the durability of the device.
The Redmi Note 7 is available in the UK with a pretty competitive GBP 179 price tag.
