Boston-area parks will be the first to receive “Soofas”, which are solar-powered benches featuring two USB ports for simultaneous phone charging.
The company Changing Environments is behind these new smart benches and the company CEO, Sandra Richter, says, “Soofa is the first step into smart urban furniture. The possibilities to update the city for the mobile generation are endless and long overdue.”
Yahoo Tech reports that Soofas cost approximately $3,000 and come with a 25-year guarantee. Boston expects to get the first Soofas next week.
