When Zayn Malik abruptly left arguably the greatest band in the history of the world earlier this week, One Direction, fans and even entire countries were in uproar.
There were rumors of a solo album, but now the truth has come out that fellow UK icon, Richard Branson, approached Malik with the prospect of being the first boy band artist to go to space.
Obviously, a once-in-a-lifetime trip to space versus performing “Steal My Girl” for the one millionth time in front of 15,000 teenagers was more appealing to the former One Direction member.
So it is set, on April 1st of next year, Malik will embark on his journey into the great unknown, in a space taxi provided by Richard Branson.
Malik will endure a long journey, record pertinent scientific findings, and even have a camera on board in order to film the first ever reality show in space.
Numerous rumors have popped up about Elon Musk sending Justin Bieber to Mars via SpaceX’s Dragon V2 Spaceship, in a marketing ploy set to rival that of Branson and Malik.
If Malik and Bieber are indeed successful on their adventures, look for hoards of Beliebers and Directioners to line up to be shipped to Mars next.
One thing I am not looking forward to is Justin Bieber stepping foot on Mars in his designer shoes, then promptly planting the Canadian flag on the red planet.
That will be a sight to see!
