The Swedish EV manufacturer Polestar started selling its fourth EV model (Polestar 4) on the US market. The model was introduced over a year ago, when plans for a flagship smartphone were also introduced. Hence, now the company is also entering a new technological sector and will provide the phone to some EV customers. The phone was designed and built with Meizu – A Chinese smartphone developer.
The Polestar 4 production started at the end of 2023 following the first deliveries in China and followed by deliveries to Europe and Australia in January 2024, but not the US. However, in March, the official pricing starting at $56,300 was revealed during the New York Auto Show. Now, online sales in the US have a starting price of $54,900 plus a $1,400 destination fee.
Polestar North America Head Gregor Hembrough said, “Following the successful debut of Polestar 4 at the New York International Auto Show, we are thrilled to officially open the order books for our SUV coupe in North America. Polestar 4 confidently enters the premium performance class within the D-SUV segment. Our SUV coupe’s innovative design offers generous interior space and a stunning appearance. Coupled with upcoming Polestar 3 deliveries this summer, we now offer two dynamic SUV options for North American customers.”
Some interesting specs and features include 20-inch alloy wheels, 360 parking camera with 3D view, energy saving heat pump in addition to various packages such as the Pilot Pack, Plus Pack, and Performance Pack.
On the other hand, the Polestar phone price is RMB 7,388 ($1,020) for Chinese customers and features a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, as well as an Android-powered Polestar OS.
The Polestar 4 production in North America is expected to start in Q3 of 2024 with first deliveries to US customers in Q4.
