Discovering new places is fun, but if you don’t know the local language it can be troublesome. Language barriers often result in misinterpretations and misunderstandings between people.
Just imagine how cool it would be if you could speak and understand any language without needing to learn it!
That’s what Google is going to do for you
Recently, Google launched a pair of wireless headphones that can translate languages in real time to make language barriers history. Known as Pixel Buds, these headphones enable the user to both translate speech and speak in a foreign language. The best part is that they can translate 40 languages using Google’s existing Google Translate technology.
To use the device, you simply have to press the earbud and issue a command, such as “let me speak Swedish.” After that, you can talk in English and Swedish will automatically emerge from your smartphone’s speakers.
Google product manager Adam Champy said, “With Pixel Buds, we’re excited to put all the power of the Google Assistant into a pair of headphones you can take with you everywhere. So, you can easily control your tunes, get walking directions to the nearest coffee spot or have a conversation with someone from another country without ever pulling out your phone.”
These headphones have five hours of battery life, and you can recharge them from a battery pack in their carrying case. If you want to buy a pair for yourself, you will have to shell out $159.
