There are more than 4,500 different types of cockroaches, but you’ll find only 50 in the United States. The American cockroach is the most common and the largest of the house-infesting roaches in the United States. It’s hard to get rid of these cockroaches due to their resiliency and the speed at which they reproduce.
A pest company from North Carolina wants to study an advanced pest control technique to check out these cockroaches effectively. The company, The Pest Informer says that its study aims to test DIY cockroach treatments in a real environment.
The company is offering homeowners $2,000 to allow them to release 100 cockroaches into their house
It is looking for about five to seven brave households in the US that will allow them to put about 100 American cockroaches into these houses for about 30 days, while its technicians will film the process during the study.
Although it’s not clear what approach the Pest Informer will use in the study but using other pest-control techniques during this 30-day process is not allowed. The company will get rid of these roaches for free at the end of the study.
While you might find this offer disgusting, there are bug fans out there who won’t mind sharing their homes with these bugs for 30 days. The company has already received 100 applications so far!
