The next-generation Volkswagen e-Golf could have a 186-mile driving range, thanks to new battery technology in development by VW.
VW Chairman Martin Winterkorn recently stated that the new technology will bring “a quantum leap for the electric car.”
While yes, 186 miles still doesn’t necessarily rival the Tesla Model S, the battery will be cheaper and smaller than the one used in today’s e-Golf.
At the moment, the company’s new super-battery technology is undergoing testing in Silicon Valley, California.
“An electric Volkswagen that can travel 300km (186 miles) on electricity is in sight.”
