Are you tired of your hectic schedule, waking up early in the morning, and working round the clock like a robot?
Guess what? Scientists are looking for healthy individuals to lie in bed all day and they are willing to pay you £13,000 to do this job.
French Researchers at the Institute for Space Medicine and Physiology are looking for 24 ‘fit and sporty’ men who are willing to spend 60 days lying in bed. The required candidate should be a non-smoker having no allergy problem. His age should be between 20 and 45, and his body mass index should not be more than 27.
But it is not as simple as it sounds…the guy will have to eat, wash, and perform all bodily functions while lying on a bed. The goal of the scientists behind this experiment is to find out the effects of prolonged weightlessness on the body.
Dr. Arnaud Beck, the coordinating physician of the study, said, “The idea of this study is to reproduce the weightlessness of the International Space Station (ISS).”
He continued, “During the first two weeks our scientists will do a whole series of tests and measurements on the volunteers. This will be followed by a 60-day period during which they must remain in bed, the head slightly inclined downwards at less than six degrees.”
