London is expected to become home to the world’s first “sky pool” in the near future, which will be 10 stories in the air spanning 25 meters between two blocks of luxury flats.
So unfortunately, if you don’t have a lot of money, you will probably never get to swim in the sky.
The sky pool, which will be installed at Embassy Gardens with the help of help of aquarium designers using 20-cm thick glass, will reportedly be three meters deep.
If you are one of the lucky ones who can afford the complex’s $942,572 penthouses, you will be afforded the luxury of swimming to the rooftop bar, spa, and orangery.
“My vision for the sky pool stemmed from a desire to push the boundaries in the capability of construction and engineering. I wanted to do something that had never been done before,” said Sean Mulryan, chairman and CEO of the Ballymore Group, the project’s developers. “The experience of the pool will be truly unique, it will feel like floating through the air in central London.”
Good luck to whoever is the first to test this pool. I think I’ll just stick to my average joe pool in the ground.
