Mercedes is reporting that a myriad of options on the company’s new S-Class—four, involving different hubcaps and various trim features, are confusing their fixed robots.
As a result, Mercedes has turned to good ole fashioned man power… That’s right! Humans are taking jobs from robots. Oh, how fast the tide can turn.
It’s more of an efficiency move than anything else as the numerous options are leading to lengthy adjustments having to be made by the robots, ultimately slowing down the production process.
Obviously, don’t expect this trend to take off, but every once in a while it’s good to be reminded that for now, we humans still run this.
