Uber’s autonomous car, a hybrid Ford Fusion, has been spotted perusing the streets of Pittsburgh as it continues its early stages of safety testing.
Essentially in a race with everyone, and especially Google when it comes to developing self-driving cars, Uber recently upped their efforts by partnering with Carnegie Mellon and the National Robotics Engineering Center to be part of its Advanced Technology Center in Pittsburgh.
Here, Uber’s autonomous car research will be done exclusively.
As auto companies such as Volvo continue to develop their own self-driving car and big rig technologies, it appears as though the race to the autonomous car market is heating up.
