Until new technologies are available, likely for the foreseeable future, your safety and the safety of your family and friends is likely to depend on the quality of GPS technology. Manufacturers of GPS vehicle tracking devices are currently designing and making 100% covert real-time GPS tracking technology. This means you can’t see the technology but you know it’s there. But does it work effectively 100% of the time?

One application of GPS tracking is “GPS teen tracking” which claims to increase the safety of teen drivers by making them accountable for what they say they are going to do. Parents gain peace of mind knowing that teen drivers will be safer when they know they are being tracked. The same technology is now being used for elderly drivers and for employees who may not be doing what they say they are going to do. And law enforcement is now tracking suspects and parolees using cell phones, GPS tracking devices on automobiles, and social media.

Optimizing Business With GPS Fleet Tracking & Management

Another major application for GPS tracking is for fleets of trucks and automobiles. Frost & Sullivan have recently reported on Geotab’s GO7 Vehicle Tracking and Fleet Management Solutions that can be plugged into an automobile’s electrical system and integrate with its on-board diagnostics (OBD).

The following video explains how companies are now keeping better track of their fleets with Fleetmatics, a fleet tracking software.
