GMC recently revealed the new mid-sized pickup truck, promising impressive off-roading capabilities, and a comfortable and luxury interior. This new 4-door Canyon AT4X is the third generation of the Canyon with a long list of available features. The optional Edition 1 package even offers underbody cameras with a washing function for off-roading on rough terrains.
The new 2.7-liter turbocharged High-Output 4-cylinder engine is promising stunning performance, being able to deliver 310 HP at 5,600 rpm, and 430 lb-ft of torque, with improvements in fuel economy. The truck will be able to tow 7,700 pounds if equipped with the trailer package. However, as a result of the modifications, the AT4X can tow 1,700 pounds less, and the models with Edition 1 package 2,200 pounds less than the standard model. The approach angle is 36.9 degrees. The departure and break-over angles are also improved. The model’s 17-inch wheels are matched with the Goodyear Wrangler Territory MT tires. It will also be possible to choose 18-inch and higher 20-inch wheels. The ground clearance is improved and equals 10.7 inches.
The new Canyon AT4X also features front and rear differentials electronic locking and an off-road suspension package as standard. It is expected that the fuel economy will be around 18-24 MPG, meaning that the 21.5-gallon fuel tank will be enough for more than 510 miles on the highway.
The spacious redesigned interior features an 11.3-inch touchscreen display, Wireless CarPlay, and Android Auto as standard, 6.3-inch color head-up display, leather-covered seats, AT4X badging, and a digital cockpit offering great functionality. The seating position is excellent even for taller people and fits 5 passengers comfortably. The interior also offers a lot of features, such as memory seats, lumbar support, heated and cooled seats, driving mode selection, multifunctional heated steering wheel, voice assist, navigation, wireless phone charging, etc.
Other specs are not yet publicly available. Being available in spring 2023, the official price tag for the AT4X Edition 1 is also still unknown. However, it is estimated that the model will come with a price tag of $63,350, with reservations taking place now.
