I saw a GIF of designer Jongha Choi demonstrating his From 2D to 3D furniture collection a few days ago and thought it was an optical illusion.
Since then, I figured out Choi wasn’t simply messing with my eyes.
His From 2D to 3D furniture collection acts pretty much as you’d expect, expanding to 3D for sitting and then folding down into 2D for easy storage.
As far as practical applications, many Manhattan and San Francisco residents living in cramped apartments could definitely utilize Choi’s unique furniture.
Others have suggested the From 2D to 3D furniture collection could simply be hung up as artwork, which seems like a neat idea.
Choi’s furniture is rather simple, but its effective engineering solves a problem for those with minimal space while also providing a unique seating solution.
