Coca-Cola Y3000 is crafted to primarily resemble Coke but with a unique twist. In order to create this distinctive flavor and design its packaging, Coca-Cola harnessed the power of artificial intelligence (AI).
The Coca-Cola Company reports that researchers collected data on people’s future visions, including colors, flavors, and other elements. This data was then integrated with AI-generated insights to define the flavor profile of the beverage.
For the product’s packaging, which seems to evoke a Y2K vibe with playful bubbles, pink and blue hues, and a pixelated logo, Coca-Cola utilized AI-generated images to craft a mood board for creative inspiration. Y3000 Can proudly acknowledge its AI involvement, prominently stating, “Co-created with AI.”
Y3000, available in both zero and full sugar versions in the United States and Canada, will be available for a limited time, with a price point similar to regular Coke. Customers can access the Creations site by scanning a QR code on the Y3000 packaging, allowing them to explore a vision of the future set 977 years ahead.
