Building a Death Star, according to NASA engineer Brian Muirhead, is as simple as using a pre-existing asteroid for materials.
“It could provide the metals. You have organic compounds, you have water – all the building blocks you would need to build your family Death Star,” Muirhead says in the video.
The video makes for a fascinating watch as Muirhead discusses everything from technological terrors to the best way to fly through an asteroid field.
Muirhead, who is currently involved is NASA’s Asteroid Redirect Mission, is looking to land a robot on an asteroid in 2023 and gather a boulder from the surface that will then be placed in an orbit around the moon.
