BMW showed off its new armored X5 Security Plus SUV recently at the Moscow International Auto Salon, but did so in a rather unique way.
Instead of simply stating the new SUV was extremely tough and rugged, the company decided to prove it by firing a machine gun and rifle at the vehicle.
BMW says the X5 is a “comprehensive system of protection against violent assault, kidnapping, and organized crime.”
I’d say they are telling the truth after looking at the post-gunfire barrage pictures… The high-security sport utility held up extremely well!
Features of the X5 Security Plus:
- Armored passenger cell
- Armored body panels
- Sealed joints with bullet-stopping protection
- VR6-level blast -certified bullet-proof windows
- 450 hp TwinPower turbocharged V8 engine
- All-wheel-drive system
