Head-up displays offer an advantage in contrast to traditional screens. They place the display directly in the driver’s field of vision so that driver doesn’t have to take the eyes off the road to view the road traffic ahead, route, speed, battery status, etc. This new driving experience enhances driving safety.
But, to date, these head-up displays on the windshield have not been able to match the resolution and detailed information provided by conventional vehicle displays.
The Scenic View Heads-Up Display
Continental AG, a developer of pioneering technologies in mobility claims to solve this problem now. The scenic view heads-up display (HUD) developed by the German company will provide a high-contrast display, ensuring good visibility even in intense sunlight.
Unlike previous head-up displays, the Scenic View HUD will not project the display onto the windshield. Instead, it will reflect important information onto a specially coated, black-printed area across the lower edge of the windshield. The Scenic View HUD has the potential to replace the instrument cluster and passenger display.
