Out of all the tech inventions which took place over the decade, ChatGPT (an artificial intelligence chatbot) has been considered to be the biggest tech revolution. AI-powered chatbot crossed 100 million users across the world, just two months after its launch in December last year.
Now the Minister of Education of UAE is planning to transform the education sector using AI chatbot tutors. They are working to use the tech similar to that offered by ChatGPT or Google Bard.
“At the Ministry of Education, we are committed to adopting trailblazing technologies and are collaborating with our partners to develop GPT-powered AI tutors and evolve education technology to elevate the education system in the UAE,” said minister of education Ahmad Al Falasii.
He made this announcement at the Alef Education Summit at the Museum of the Future in Dubai. Their goal is to improve their schools by making the learning process more interactive and improving subject understanding. For that, they are discussing with organizations like OpenAI, Microsoft, and other tech giants.
Al Falasi said, “It’s causing teachers, academics, and educators globally to reassess not only how they teach but also how they assess,”
“In the UAE, we agreed that we would accept this technology.”
“We are putting together a policy that gives guidelines to faculty and teachers on how best to use such large language models to their benefit to help students interact with it but at the same time ensure they have the best learning.”
