Indian EV start-up Vazirani Automotive revealed its Ekonk electric hypercar. The car is the fastest car ever built in India. Ekonk’s electric powertrain produces 722 horsepower, allowing it to go from 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) in just 2.54 seconds. It was tested on a high-speed track where it achieved a top speed of 309 km/h (192 mph)
It’s also the lightest electric vehicle in the world
Ekonk’s body has been made from carbon fiber to keep the weight down. It weighs just 738 kilograms (1,627 lb).
The single-seater hypercar can reach a top speed of 192mph (308 km/h). It uses Vazirani’s new innovative battery solution to keep it as light and fast as possible.
Ekonk’s unique air-cooling system takes inspiration from birds
Vazirani has developed DiCo technology for Ekonk’s air cooling system. DiCo enables the batteries to cool directly with the air, without needing liquid cooling. The special cooling system was developed via biomimicry which takes inspiration from flying and gliding animals that fly through the air to regulate their body temperatures.
This unique cooling system sets the Ekonk apart from most modern electric vehicles, which use the traditional complex liquid cooling technique to cool down their battery packs.
But Ekonk is still in the prototype phase, the company hasn’t released any information on when the car will go into production.
