Charging speed of the batteries is still one of the largest obstacles to wider adoption of electric vehicles.
But now an Arizona-based electric vehicle startup Atlis Motor Vehicles has claimed that it achieved a full charge in 12 minutes, 35 seconds.
This is the best ultra-fast charging time in the EV industry
Though the prototype battery pack tested was only 3 kWh pack which sounds irrelevant, the company believes it is fully scalable for its upcoming electric pickup truck.
Atlis Motor Vehicles was founded in 2016 to develop a full-size battery-electric pickup truck that will offer the advantages of a traditional work truck. Electric pickup truck manufacturer committed an affordable 15 minutes charging time to achieve this goal.
It’s all Work in Progress for now!
The start-up is planning to price the vehicle very competitively with a starting price as low as $45,000 with a base range of 300 miles and an optional range of 500 miles. However, the ultra-fast charging would be standard.
At present, the company is attempting to raise $1 million through crowdfunding to build the first prototype of the truck.
