United Arab Emirates (UAE) recently shared its breathtaking plan which is going to reinvent the ways of transportation. UAE is planning to connect the Emirate of Fujairah in UAE to the city of Mumbai in India via an under water rail network.

United Arab Emirates’ National Advisor Bureau made this proposal of underwater rail network at India-UAE Strategic Conclave 2018.

Here are some of its features:

  • The overall rail network will be less than 2,000 km long,
  • The speed of the rail will be about 1000 km/hr.
  • With this train, time to travel between India and UAE will be just two hours.
  • This ultra-speed floating transit trains will not only transport people, but also oil, water, and other goods back and forth.

Abdulla Alshehhi (Managing Director and Chief Consultant of National Advisor Bureau Limited), said, “This is a concept. We plan to connect Indian city of Mumbai with Fujairah through ultra-speed floating trains. The project aims to boost bilateral trade. There will be export of oil to India from Fujairah port and import of excess water from Narmada River, north of Mumbai. In addition, other GCC partners can also improve export and import,”

He added, “We will do feasibility study of the project. This is concept but a cool project to look at”
