It takes the perfect combination of robotics and humans working together to assemble a train.
Transport for London’s new timelapse video of a London Elizabeth line train being constructed at Bombardier in Derby shows just how much work goes into the process.
For some perspective, it takes 500 people working on the London Elizabeth line trains every week to piece together 50 miles of cabling, in addition to 5 miles of welding for each train.
Up to seven carriages are manufactured each week, and when it’s all said and done, the full-length trains will be capable of carrying 1500 passengers.
