ESPN is looking to capitalize on the positive aspects of drones, namely drone racing.
The sports giant has signed a multi-year deal with the International Drone Racing Association to broadcast races, beginning with this year’s U.S. National Drone Racing Championships.
In fact, the U.S. National Drone Racing Championships, which will take place on Governor’s Island in New York, start relatively soon, in August.
All three days will be streamed live online, with one hour dedicated to being broadcast on television.
If you haven’t seen any of the drone racing clips on YouTube yet, you should do yourself a favor and watch them as the sport is actually quite fascinating.
I’m looking forward to seeing how ESPN’s drone racing gamble works out.
