3D printing is changing the way we do a whole lot of things, including the way we use regular household items.
A team at the Hasso Plattner Institute of Design created what they call the “Protopiper,” which enables the user to transform tubes of tape into sturdy 3D structures.
The Protopiper can physically sketch a room-sized object at actual scale because it works like a handheld 3D printer in the form of a unique tape gun.
While some people on the internet seem to be worrying about its practical applications, I see the Protopiper as more of a toy.
