Apple is flexing its muscles again in the trillion-dollar smartphone market with innovative products. In fact, Apple’s knack for developing smart devices has left other tech companies scratching their heads.
Apple has applied for the patent on a tiny smart ring computing device. This finger mounted iRing has a touch screen mounted on the ring. Not only this, the device is packed with motion sensors, a computer processor, a haptic feedback system, a rechargeable power source, and even cameras.
Users can dictate text messages with the help of a microphone. iRing will have biometric sensors to help fitness freaks keep tabs on their fitness by capturing heart rate, perspiration levels, and temperature.
iRing will interact with the user’s iPhone like using its GPS receiver to display maps on the ring’s screen. The device will mostly be controlled by the thumb and will be worn on the forefinger.
In many ways, the iRing has most of the features of the recently released iWatch, but all packed into a much smaller device.
Looking at Apple and Samsung’s bitter global battle for supremacy in the smartphone market, it will be interesting to see what Samsung does next!
Maybe they will come up with a device that can be worn on a thumb instead!
