3D-Printed Scale Model of a Boeing 787’s GE-Built Turbofan Jet Engine

A member of the RC Groups forum used a regular household 3D printer in order to produce a fully-functional scale model of a Boeing 787’s GE-built turbofan jet engine.

If you’ve ever worked with a 3D printer, you know that printing a jet engine is no small feat, especially one with a thrust like this engine demonstrates.

In fact, it is capable of producing enough thrust to power a remote-controlled airplane, which is what the creator is planning to do with the turbofan jet engine.

Specs:
– 100mm diameter 18 blades.
– 24 outlet guide vanes.
– 34mm diameter 18 blade internal turbine for cooling the motor.
– Thrust reverser, complete system with translating cowl, blocker doors and cascades.
– NTM 1400kv 35mm motor
