Believe it or not, the tiny car in the video below recently became one of the fastest accelerating vehicles on planet Earth.
Built by a team of students from the University of Stuttgart, the car hit 62 mph (100 km/h) in a scorching 1.779 seconds.
That time was good enough to surpass the likes of the Bugatti Veyron and Porsche 918 to ink out a new world record for EVs.
Unfortunately for the previous record holder, Swiss team AMZ Racing, the car the Stuttgart students built beat the record by a miniscule 0.006 seconds.
Specs:
• Weighs 160kg
• Powered by four electric motors and a 6.62kWh battery
• Generates 134 horsepower
• Power-to-weight ratio of 1.6 kg/kW.
