Ever dreamed of having absolutely perfect vision? How about superhuman vision?
Dr. Garth Webb believes bionic lenses have the capability to boost sight to three times 20/20 vision, an incredible feat if true.
Dr. Webb’s Ocumetic Bionic Lens can reportedly be implanted in eight minutes, and then takes 10 seconds to unravel, which means no more annoying contacts.
“If you can just barely see the clock at 10 feet, when you get the Bionic Lens, you can see the clock at 30 feet away,” Dr. Webb told CBC News.
The lenses are inserted into your eyes by way of a syringe filled with saline solution, before unraveling and almost magically curing poor eyesight.
As far as the actual technology behind the bionic lens, Dr. Webb is a bit secretive for the time being which is completely understandable.
For something that has revolutionary potential in the world, I’d probably do my best to not leak as many details as possible!
As far as when this technology could be available to the public, look for the inaugural Ocumetics Bionic Lens to come out as early as 2017.
