Children’s feet grow fast, and they often require new shoes every few months. This can be pretty expensive for people living in developing countries, so some children end up wearing ill-fitting shoes or just go barefoot.
However, one charity organization called ‘Because International’ has come up with an innovative shoe that expands, adjusts and grows with a child’s feet.

Shoes Will Grow 5 Sizes in 5 Years and are Robust Enough for Long-Term Use
The idea is the brainchild of inventor Kenton Lee from Nampa, Idaho. The idea was first conceived when he was working in Nairobi, Kenya. He saw children running around barefoot and in shoes too small for their feet
Lee created a shoe that grows to accommodate the growing feet of children. He used adjustable buckles and a strap on the toe to expand the shoe by five sizes. The shoe resembles a typical sandal; it is made of compressed rubber, which protects the soles, and high-quality leather.
The charity has already delivered 3,000 pairs. It is currently fundraising for another 5,000 pairs to be shipped in July this year. A single pair of adjustable sandals cost $30 but buying 100 pairs reduces the cost to $12 each.
