This year’s Le Mans 2015 24-Hour Race, scheduled for June 13th & 14th, will feature some of the most high-tech, polished race cars on the planet.
Nissan’s entry, the GT-R LM NISMO, features a front engine, front wheel drive car powered by 3-liter twin turbo V6 gas engine and a kinetic energy recovery system. Nissan’s car was unveiled during Super Bowl XLIX (see video).
In the run up to Le Mans, the race car will be entered in the 2015 World Endurance Championship scheduled for April 12, 2015.
Regulations at Le Mans limit race cars to eight megajoules of energy per 8.47 miles of Le Mans track. The weight of the GT-R LM is distributed at the front to improve air flow and traction.
Nissan will be going head to head with Porsche, Audi, Toyota and others in its quest to win Le Mans.
