Eurostar has announced a new series of superfast trains, recently unveiling an e320 model on Thursday, Nov. 12, at St. Pancras station in London.
The company says its new trains are capable of hitting speeds upwards of 200 miles per hour and fully expect the new fleet to be ready for commercial operation by 2015.
European travel is booming right now and Eurostar is planning to capitalize with new routes to Provence in France and a direct shot to Amsterdam on the way, in addition to its current offering which sends people to London, Paris, Brussels, and the Swiss Alps regularly.
Eurostar Chief Executive Nicolas Petrovic, said in a statement, “Having had ten consecutive years of growth, we are seeing record demand for our services and the addition of new trains to our fleet will be key to achieving our growth ambitions. With just one year to go until our new e320 train comes into service, passengers will see a complete transformation of our service.”
The new trains from Eurostar will carry 900 passengers and feature Wi-Fi, a luxurious interior, and delicious food offerings for certain areas on board.
