Vivint Inc., second to only Elon Musk’s SolarCity in solar panel installation volumes in the United States, has filed for an IPO and the company could make it’s market debut this fall.
Currently, Vivint holds 9% if the market share while SolarCity continues to dominate with 29%.
Vivint Solar launched in 2011 and currently employs 2,200 people between its solar business and home security business.
Vivint Solar CEO Todd Pedersen certainly feels confident about the direction of the company after growing in size much faster than Elon Musk’s SolarCity.
In fact, Pedersen speaking on SolarCity said, They’ll probably be big, we’ll just be bigger, is the bottom line.”
