Austin, Texas, is home to the first Formula One track in the United States, The Circuit of the Americas.
Built in 2012, the raceway features a 3.4-mile track and Tom Fowlks of ESPN was lucky enough to be on site during construction in order to captures some unbelievable photos of America’s first F1 raceway.
To put how gigantic the track is into perspective, it spans 1,000 acres, and required Fowlks to take numerous pictures from a helicopter hovering above the course.
The photos do a wonderful job of encompassing the beauty of The Circuit of the Americas, designed by renowned German architect and auto-racer Hermann Tilke.
