The Denny is a brand new electric bike concept from a team of Seattle designers, featuring automatic gear shifting, a detachable handlebar that also functions as a bike lock, integrated turn signals with head, brake and reactive smart lights and a removable electric motor.
The designers say, “The Denny bike is about returning the rider (and ourselves) to those early days of carefree riding, when cycling was just about ‘get up and go’ freedom; the reason we all fell in love with bikes in the first place.”
The Denny is the most talked about prototype of all the entrants in the Oregon Manifest bike design project, a contest that challenged designers across the United States to come up with the bike of the future.
The winning idea will be manufactured by Fuji Bikes, and is expected to be available for purchase by 2015.
