Home Depot is branching out from home improvement goods, now offering 3D printers from MakerBot in Illinois, California and New York.
The company has confirmed its intentions are to sell the 3D printers for certain parts in hopes that the customers will eventually come back to buy other products not capable of being printed quite yet, as well as to restock on 3D printing filament.
Currently, the most expensive 3D printer you can buy at Home Depot is the fifth-generation desktop Replicator Model which retails for $2,899, capable of printing items approximately the size of a loaf of bread.
On the other end of the spectrum, the least expensive product is the Replicator Mini which goes for $1,375.
Home Depots knows 3D printers require a solid investment but believes in the viability of them moving forward in helping the largest home improvement chain in the world sustain success.
