Honda is getting close to rolling out its HondaJet, an innovative aircraft featuring quite possibly the most unique engine layout we have ever seen in civil aviation. The HondaJet will utilize two GE Honda HF120 turbofans mounted on top of its wings in order to severely reduce engine noise for passengers and create more usable space within the cabin.
Produced in North Carolina, the HondaJet is looking to become a major player in the very light segment of the jet market.
The HondaJet is priced at $3.7 million while a similar jet, the Spectrum S.33 is priced at approximately $3.95 million.
Very light jets typically range in price from about $900,000 to roughly $4 million.
For example, the Maverick SmartJET starts at $899,000 while Cessna Citation Mustang goes for about $2.76 million.
It is clear that Honda wants to make a big splash on the high-end very light private jet industry and their unique design offering looks to aid HondaJet in doing so.
