Nissan Prepares to Dry Out Car Washes with a Self-Cleaning Car

If you’re tired of spending your Saturday washing your car, Nissan wants you to know it’s here to help you take back your weekend. The car manufacturer is currently working on a self-cleaning car, which uses paint that is hydrophobic and oleophobic. In other words, it repels both water and oil.

The paint is called Ultra Ever Dry and has been tested a number of times by the Nissan Technical Centre in Britain. After applying the coat, dirt will slide off the car. The tests have been carried out on a Nissan Note so far.

Currently, the paint is just in the testing phase and Nissan hasn’t revealed any plans to make the paint a standard for its cars. Check out Nissan’s introduction to the self-cleaning car below:
