One of the oldest sports in the Middle East happens to be camel racing. In 2002, new regulations called for changes to the sport as children from India could no longer be used to race the camels.
The kid jockeys had to be replaced. So owners have found a new way to get around the new rules, which involve robot jockeys equipped with whips that are controlled by the owners.
With camels valued upwards of $1 million USD, the sport is taken very seriously and the robots feature GPS tracking systems as well as shock absorbers.
