IndustryTap recently reported on the new Goodyear Zeppelins and this new era in lighter than air transport. The new Zeppelins are faster, bigger and easier to maneuver than the old blimps and mark the end of the old model, which will be retired after 14 years.
The Goodyear Zeppelin utilizes fly-by-wire flight control similar to a helicopter and three engines, capable of hitting speeds approximately 73 mph. This is up from a top speed of 54 mph on the old design. It’s also 50 feet longer than its predecessor, has more advanced internal structures and can carry up to twelve people.
The “Goodyear Blimp” is also looking for a new name because this new airship is so advanced it cannot be classified as a blimp anymore. The lucky person who comes up with the perfect name will get to take a group of friends on the flight of a lifetime at a sporting event as a prize.
Come up with a great name and it could be you!
