Croatian/Austrian design studio Numen/For Use continues to push the envelope with inflatables, cocoons, webs and giant structures in general.
Though the designers were not sure if tape could support the human body, they soon found that plenty of packing tape would do the trick in completing its goal of creating a “human cocoon”.
Generally speaking, Numen/For Use builds things people can interact with, play on, climb inside and are not easy to replicate. The latest structure is no exception and by using a whole lot of tape that’s approximately 8 inches wide, the webs are capable of holding up to 15 people at a time.
In case you were wondering, Numen/For Use goes over the inside of its webs with another layer of tape to ensure users don’t get sticky and/or stuck.
