India’s largest motorcycle manufacturer, Hero, has created a two-wheeled vehicle capable of carrying up to four people, along with packages and produce. The vehicle is called “The Hero RNT” and is the world’s first diesel electric hybrid scooter with two-wheel drive.
The RNT is looking to appeal to millions of motorists who use bikes to travel around on a daily basis with features like:
- 14 horsepower, 150 cc diesel mill
- 26 pound-feet of torque
- 1.3-hp hub-mounted motor (makes the RNT two-wheel drive)
- Optional turbocharger
- Removable LED headlight
- Optional generator
The price of The Hero RNT has not been announced, but many expect the scooter to be relatively affordable since diesel is 25% cheaper in India.
