A 9-year-old Belgian boy named Laurent Simons is all set to become the youngest person to complete a graduation degree.
He is going to finish his degree in electrical engineering this December from Eindhoven University of Technology (TUE). So this child prodigy will graduate college at the tender age of 9.
He will be listed in the Guinness Book as the world’s youngest university graduate, currently this record is held by Michael Kearney who graduated at age 10 from the University of Alabama.
He will get the top spot in the Guinness Book of World Records, currently this record is held by Michael Kearney who graduated at age 10 from the University of Alabama.
Laurent Simons has an IQ of at least 145. Unlike most kids of his age, he is clear what he wants to do. After completing his graduation, he wants to pursue an engineering doctorate and a medical degree. He has already figured out that he wants to develop a way to grow artificial organs in future.
Laurent’s dad said, “The absorption of information is no problem for Laurent,” “I think the focus will be on research and applying the knowledge to discover new things.”
Sjoerd Hulshof, education director of the undergraduate electrical engineering program, said, “Special students that have good reasons for doing so can arrange an adjusted schedule. In much the same way we help students who participate in top sport,”
“Laurent is the fastest student we have ever had here,” he added. “Not only is he hyper intelligent but also a very sympathetic boy.”
